THE MEAT PROXY PROBLEM

Don’t be a meat proxy

There’s a name for a person who pastes an AI’s answer straight to the next human or system without reading it: a meat proxy. The output is verbose, jargon-dense and often plausibly wrong — so relaying it unread adds nothing and quietly hands off responsibility for what it says. As the essay that coined the term argues, the person on the other end could just talk to the model themselves.

The valuable act was never the relaying — it’s the judgment. Read it, understand it, validate it, then answer in your own words. That effort is the certificate that the earlier steps actually happened, and it’s the first thing to get skipped when a human is buried in mechanics.
